Melt oil in crock pot then stir in other ingredients in order. Cook on low for 5 hours or until brown, stirring occasionally. Make sure you keep the cover cracked on the crock-pot. The more frequently you stir, the finer the consistency. If you prefer clumpier granola stir less.

Options:

Good as a hot or cold cereal, as a snack, a topping for yogurt or made into granola bars, see below.

Quick Granola Bars

  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups Crockpot granola (see above)
  • ½ cup of optional ingredients

Preheat oven to 350. Combine all ingredients together. Place in lightly greased 8x8 pan. Bake for 15 minutes. Cut into bars. Cool.

I submitted the recipe. I keep it in a closed container in my pantry. It has never gone bad on me, and I have been making it for years. It always gets eaten within a month, usually much less time.

for an option: I have also used agave or molasses (or combos) in place of the honey.

Thank you for this phenomenal recipe!! My family loves it and it fills the house with such a comforting aroma! I doubled the spices, cut back on the oil in order to add coconut cream concentrate, put in an extra 1/2 cup coconut and added a bit of xylitol and sea salt. When it finished cooking, I added dried cherries, roasted pecans and slivered almonds.
